Since the advent of printed words men have strived to promote their ideas in written form.
It is hard to tell when the first magazine was ever published. Some say the "magazines of the world" timeline began in March 1672 with the publication of the French intellectual journal Mercure Galant (later known as Mercure de France). Established in Paris by Jean Donneau de Vise. Others say "it was later than that as the term \'magazine\' was first employed to signify a periodical miscellany by Edward Cave, who as \'Sylvanus Urban, Gent\', started the Gentleman\'s Magazine, the first to use the word in its title, in January 1731 (Source The New Shell Book of Firsts). Whichever is true the fact of the matter is magazines are here to stay and they are the epitome of propagation of written and visual ideas and messages. Unlike TV media you can pick one up and browse thru and save and browse again and cut images out and highlight your favorite text and passages.
Now with the age of computer and graphics the publishing of magazines has become a daily routine.
We now challenge you to create your own magazine cover.
1 - Any title you wish
2 - Any theme you wish. From the family oriented to the naughty and sexy. Our rules are \'freedom of expression\' period.
3 - Any layout you chose.
4 - You do not have to use Illusions Designs characters.
5 - Avoid plagiarisms as much as possible. Be creative and do your own stuff.

Entries submitted after that time will not be considered and will be returned.

Contest Rules:

Maximum of 3 (three) entries per person
Must be a new image; not previously posted as a contest entry or for public viewing on any website
All entries must accompanied by a text file indicating the name and e-mail of the contestant.
Image must bear no identification, watermark or logo for the purposes of this contest
File sizes: Any size, any compression, jpeg format only.
No thumbnails necessary. They are auto-generated by the gallery.

By submitting entry you are authorizing Illusions-Designs to post the winning images in its website and/or use it for the purpose of promoting this, or future contests.

Voting:

The voting will begin at 12:01 Eastern Time (US) on Monday, October 1st 2007 and will be accepted until Midnight Eastern Time (US) on Monday, October 8th 2007.
Votes entered after this time will be void. The votes will be tallied by the management of Illusions Designs and all results will be final.
You are only allowed one vote. Winners will be determined by the greatest number of votes. In case of a tie the images who was first uploaded will be declared the winner.
You are not allowed to vote for your own image(s). For the purpose of fairness and security. IP address, internet provider, date and time, operating system, browser type and version are all being recorded so please vote only once. Let\'s play fair!

Judging:

Winners will be determined by votes by the participants or any one else that wishes to vote on the entries. We will enable the voting page as soon as the submissions are over.
The winners will be announced sometime on Tuesday October 9th 2007 and will be posted to this page. Winners will also be notified via email.
